  • Massachusetts Chapter Receives multiple awards at National Convention

    Massachusetts Chapter leadership were in attendance to receive multiple awards at the Opening Ceremonies of the AMTA National Convention. President Mary White accepted the National Humanitarian Award on behalf of Mass Chapter member Ed Connor.   • September Education and Meeting Event a Success!

    More than 60 massage therapists came to Northampton on Sunday September 9 for the Myofascial Scar Tissue massage class with Kate Peck and the chapter meeting.

    Attendees raved about the great class and left the lunch meeting fully informed and excited about recent and upcoming Mass Chapter activities.

  • 2012 Recommendations and Position Statements Released

    The Recommendations and Position Statements for 2012 are now available. The five elected Delegates from the AMTA Mass Chapter will vote on behalf of the Mass Chapter and its members.  In order for the Delegates to most accurately represent you, the member, they need to know your thoughts on the Recommendations and Statements.  If a Recommendation passes the HOD, it is sent to the National Board, who will vote on whether it becomes an official Recommendation of the AMTA.  If a Statement passes, National AMTA will adopt the Statement and promote it.

  • The Dianne Polseno Student Scholarship Fund

    On May 12, 2012 the massage profession lost a giant. Dianne Polseno passed away after an 8 month battle with cancer. Dianne was a nurse, massage therapist, addictions counselor, teacher, anatomist, writer, author, mentor and friend. Trained at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, she stayed from 1990 to 2006 as an instructor and then Director of Education. She moved on to became the Director of Education at Cortiva-Boston, and quickly rose to become the President of that campus.

  • 2012 Annual Meeting and Education Event a Success

    Over 200 members and students gathered at the Newton Marriott on May 6, 2012

    We Skyped with the Massage Therapy Foundation Board of Trustees, and acknowledged their hard work with our 2012 Distinguished Service award and pledged our annual $10,000 donation. Ruth Werner and the Board recognized and thanked the Mass Chapter for all the support in the last year and want you to save the date for the Third International Research Conference that is taking place in Boston, April 2013.
