An Assembly of Delegates Update
By Sue Cormier, AMTA-MA Chapter Delegate

Jessica Ferrer of AMTA-Massachusetts, who held the Assembly of Delegates (AOD) Moderator and Assembly of Delegates Advisory Committee (AODAC) Chair position since 2022 resigned this past February after serving a total of 12 years in a leadership position with that national platform of the organization. We are privileged to have her remain in a leadership role with us at the chapter level. Kim Kane-Santos, the current AMTA National President, appointed Deb Kilty of AMTA-Rhode Island to replace her.

The Assembly of Delegates are eagerly awaiting for approved Discussion Topics and Proposed Ideas for Position Statements to be selected and put forth from the AODAC in the coming weeks. Once those have been presented to us, Kelley Silva and I will provide the weblinks to access those proposals for review by you, our Chapter members, and hope to receive your feedback ahead of the AOD convening in-person at the 2024 AMTA Assembly of Delegates Annual Meeting being held in Tampa, FL on Wednesday, September 11. Let your voice be heard and let us know your thoughts once you’ve had a chance to review them so that we may contribute and share those points of view.

AMTA members interested in submitting a proposal of a Discussion Topic (DT) or Proposed Idea for a Position Statement (PIPS) may do so ANYTIME throughout the year. Submission forms are available through the national AMTA website here.
