Chapter Education Events

Please join the AMTA-MA Chapter for our Annual Chapter Meeting and Education Weekend! We are kicking off the weekend with Jim McCormick, L.Ac. with his course "Intro to Zero Balancing" on Saturday, April 30th. On Sunday, May 1st, Greg Hurd, LMT, BCTMB is presenting our FREE Ethics course. Immediately following the class, we welcome everyone for a complimentary lunch and our first in-person annual chapter meeting since 2019!

You may choose to attend any combination of the following events. Remember Saturday is LOW COST education and everything on Sunday is FREE! You still need to select the free events when registering so we get a class, meal, and meeting head count.

Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm with an hour break for lunch

Course: Ethics for the Massage Therapist: How We View and Choose our Actions with Greg Hurd, LMT, BCTMB

Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm


Cost: FREE

Complimentary lunch will be served at 12:00pm and we welcome you to stay for our Annual Chapter Meeting that takes place from 12:30pm to 4:00pm. Please stay for as long as you can but you can certainly leave early.

Intro to Zero Balancing Course Description:

This class will introduce participants to the technique, theory and touch skills unique to Zero Balancing with special emphasis on how these skills can benefit massage therapists. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to perform Zero Balancing evaluations and treatments which can be used in your practice.

You will learn:

  • Theory and principles of ZB
  • To distinguish body energy and body structure through touch
  • The skill of using energy as a working tool
  • The Theory and application of ZB techniques called fulcrums
  • How to use these ZB techniques in a massage session

Ethics for the Massage Therapist: How We View and Choose our Actions Course Description:

In this interactive class, we explore the choices that we make and the consequences of our choices. There are many who tell us what we are supposed to do. But are 'rules' applicable to all situations? Let's explore the fascinating world of professional ethics.
