President's Message & Letter to State's Reopening Advisory Board

Published: May 12, 2020

Pandemic presidency is not what I had in mind when I applied for this position, but I have never been one to shy away from a challenge. Our small, dedicated group of volunteers is working with our lobbyist, Mark Molloy, and our State Board of Massage Therapy to ensure the safest, smoothest transition back to work.

We are listening to the wide and varied concerns that have been expressed. Please continue to communicate to us. Click here to download a copy of the letter sent to the State's Reopening Advisory Board from the AMTA-MA Chapter. We believe that this is the first of the process and we will have more communication with the board before our phasing-in begins.

We also believe that is your right to communicate with the Reopening Advisory Board to have your individual voice heard directly. Click here to complete the online form. At yesterday’s State Board meeting, it was suggested there be an open forum for us to voice our concerns. If you agree with this idea, it is critical that you express your support via e-mail to Massagetherapy@mass.gov.

Please remember that we are navigating this difficult situation together. Be kind to one another. We will get to the other side, stronger than we have ever been, and we will have grown from the lessons we are learning.

Yours in Service,
Nichole Cross
